Editor's note
Ayima was founded in 2007 by Mike Nott, Mike Jacobson, Rob Kerry and Tim Webb, who had previously run in-house SEO for the online poker brand PartyGaming. The original positioning was a technical SEO consultancy focused on Fortune 100 and FTSE 100 clients, with offices added in New York, Stockholm, San Francisco and Vancouver during the late 2010s and around 145 staff at peak. The Swedish parent, Ayima Group AB, listed on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market in Stockholm and was delisted after the Stockholm District Court approved its bankruptcy application on 18 June 2024. 1 UK agency in the AgencyIndex directory currently sits under the Ayima Network tag: Ayima itself, listed at the London office. After the parent-company insolvency, the UK trading entity Ayima UK Limited (Companies House number 06680571) remained active on the register, the ayima.com website continued to publish from London and New York, and the proprietary tooling (Redirect Path, Page Insights, Pulse, Appotate) stayed in use. There is no longer a Stockholm or Vancouver office on the public site, and a separate proposed asset purchase by White Pearl Technology Group was withdrawn in 2024. The current shape is therefore a much smaller independent SEO and AI search consultancy than the pre-2024 listed group. Public-facing services centre on enterprise SEO programmes, competitive analysis, site migrations and AI search optimisation across ChatGPT and other generative platforms. The historic Ayima brand carries genuine credibility in technical SEO circles, but the holding-group framing on AgencyIndex is essentially a single-agency tag retained from the network's listed-company era.

When to engage
3 signals
engaging Ayima makes sense
  • · Enterprise or FTSE-100 brand needs senior technical SEO leadership on a site migration, log-file analysis or international roll-out, not generalist digital support
  • · AI search visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity and the wider generative layer is now part of the SEO remit and the team has a clear product position there
  • · Buyer is comfortable working with a smaller post-restructure independent rather than a network-backed search team, and values founder-era SEO heritage over scale
