Editor's note
Omnicom Group is headquartered in Manhattan, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker OMC, and is run by Chairman and CEO John Wren, who has held the top job since 1997. Standalone 2024 revenue was $15.69bn with around 74,900 staff at year-end, serving more than 5,000 clients across 70-plus countries. On 26 November 2025 Omnicom completed its acquisition of The Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG), the deal first announced on 8 December 2024 and cleared by the EU on 24 November 2025 as the final jurisdiction. Legacy Omnicom shareholders own approximately 60.6% of the combined company, legacy IPG shareholders 39.4%, and pro forma combined revenue is in excess of $25bn, which puts the new Omnicom ahead of WPP and Publicis as the largest holding group globally. 5 of the 818 UK agencies in the AgencyIndex directory currently sit under Omnicom Group, and all 5 are inside Omnicom Media Group (OMG UK) rather than the creative networks. They are OMD (the flagship media network), PHD (planning-led media), Manning Gottlieb OMD (Campaign UK and The Media Leader's Agency of the Year for two consecutive years through 2025), Hearts & Science (data-led media), and Drum (OMG's branded-content and creative division). Beyond the directory entries, Omnicom's wider UK footprint also includes the BBDO, TBWA, McCann, FCB and MullenLowe creative networks (AMV BBDO, adam&eveDDB, TBWA\London, McCann London), the public relations networks under Chris Foster's Omnicom Public Relations Group (FleishmanHillard, Golin, Ketchum, Porter Novelli, Weber Shandwick), and specialist health, design and production units. The dominant story for 2026 buyers is the post-merger restructure announced on 1 December 2025. Three creative network brands (DDB, FCB and MullenLowe) are being retired in the first half of 2026, with around 4,000 group-wide job cuts and a $750m cost-saving target. In the UK that means adam&eveDDB merges with TBWA\London into adam&eve\TBWA under Miranda Hipwell, and BBDO consolidates with FCB into AMV BBDO under Xavier Rees. Three creative networks survive globally (BBDO, TBWA, McCann) under Troy Ruhanen as CEO of Omnicom Advertising. Florian Adamski continues as CEO of Omnicom Media, with the OMG UK shops added to by IPG Mediabrands' Initiative and UM. The Omni marketing intelligence platform, now built on Acxiom RealID and 2.6 billion verified global identifiers, is the group's stated answer to Publicis's data and AI lead.
